ISLAMABAD - Roots Chinese Language Department (RCLD) organised a welcome ceremony for Chinese Ambassador, Liu Jian, at Roots Millennium Schools, Wahid Campus, F-10/2, on Tuesday.

It was great privilege and honour for RCLD to host a ceremony for the Chinese Ambassador. Liu Jian visited RMS to appreciate RCLD and CRI-Roots Confucius Classroom for promoting Chinese language initiative at RMS as more than 3,000 students are learning Mandarin with 12 full time Chinese teachers at Roots Millennium Schools.

Jian was welcomed in a splendid way by Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq, CEO RMS, management, staff and students at RMS Wahid Campus. National anthem of both China and Pakistan was played. Virtual tour on RMS Chinese Language Initiative was played for Jian, says a press release issued here.

Young students mesmerised the audience by their performance. Chinese Umbrella Dance, Tai Ji Performance and Thank You Note in Chinese language really pleased the ambassador.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ch Faisal Mushtaq said, “Our enthusiasm, dedication and devotion to nurture Pak-China friendship are very profound. We, the Roots Chinese Language Department and team, are very committed to render our all support and to take an active part in any initiatives aimed at furthering this great national cause and promoting education and literacy in Pakistan. By the year 2020, I envision one million students learning Chinese language across Pakistani schools - both public and private.”
