HAFIZABAD -As many as 209 proclaimed offenders including 62 involved in murder, dacoity and other heinous crimes were rounded up by the district police in crackdowns during the last month.
The district police officer said that the police bagged first position in the Gujranwala region in arresting criminals. He further said that the police had seized two kilograms of heroin, 1kg charas and 67 litres of liquor besides sealing three stills during the period.  The police arrested 34 anti-social elements and seized two kalashnikovs, seven rifles, 14 guns, 12 pistols, one carbine and 900 rounds of ammunition from them. Moreover, 63 persons were nabbed and 20 prostitution dens were smashed.
