RAWALPINDI - The security and law and order situation in Pakistan was not that much bad which was being portrayed by the western media.

Business Community of Pakistan could play proactive role to build a positive image of the country in the world, said German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Cyrill Nunn during his visit to Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Tuesday.

On the occasion, RCCI President Manzar Khurshid Sheikh, office bearers and other members of Chamber were also present.

 While addressing, the Ambassador said that Germany was willing to offer its utmost assistance in every sector in which Pakistan was lacking behind. The German Embassy would assist RCCI in organizing single country Expo in Germany, he added.

Dr Cyrill said that Germany was the largest trade partner of Pakistan among European Union and trade volume between the two countries was 2.3 billion USD.

“Both the countries are enjoying best relations and it is need of the hour to further enhance trade relations,” he said.

He said that Pakistan having population of more than 189 million could be the best trade market for Germans to invest in the country. Germany was keen to invest in the country, he said.

RCCI President Manzar Khurshid Sheikh, speaking on the occasion, said that the local business community was fully aware of the significance of enhancing trade relations among all the countries proof of which was that RCCI had organized 10 single Country Expos this year.

Sheikh also informed that RCCI was working to develop direct interaction between the business communities of two countries.
