NOWSHERA VIRKAN - MPA Khalid Pervaiz Virk termed the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) scholarship programme a hallmark step in a bid to end illiteracy from the province. He said that the Punjab chief minister was utilising all available resources to promote education across the province. .

He was addressing a PEEF scholarships distribution ceremony here at Sports Complex the other day.

The ceremony was organised under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Ali Akbar Bhindar.  The PEEF scholarships of Rs130,000 were distributed among 45 brilliant deserving students from different educational institutions of the tehsil.

Ch Khalid Virk said that 40,000 brilliant deserving students benefited from the PEEF and scholarships amounting to Rs2 billions had been distributed among girls and boy students across the province. He said that the PML government was taking revolutionary steps to boost the young generation.

On the occasion, PML-N Tehsil Coordinator Humayun Akbbar said that that it was for the first time that the Punjab government under the leadership of Shahbaz Sharif initiated such a programme for brilliant students. He claimed that it was the biggest scholarship programme in Asia.

PEEF representative Zahid Husssain, former City nazim Muhammad Mansha Bath, and a large number of students and teachers were attended the ceremony.
