ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik called on Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf at PM's House on Tuesday afternoon and briefed the Prime Minister on the overall law and order situation in the country.

Malik also apprised the Prime Minister of his visit to Chitral to assess the security situation especially the cross border movements. The Prime Minister appreciated the Interior Minister for his active participation in maintaining the law and order situation in the country. Senator Syeda Sughra Imam and MNA Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan also called on Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

Sughra Imam briefed PM about the current status of Karachi mega projects. She further informed him that that Federal Government in cooperation with the Sindh Government is working on four mega projects which include Layari Expressway, Hyderabad Motorway, Karachi Water Supply Scheme and Karachi Circular Railway.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts being made by Senator Syeda Sughra Imam and personal interest in these projects.

Meanwhile, MNA Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan informed the Prime Minister about the progress on Taxila-Haripur Road initiated by the present government.

He also invited the Prime Minister to inaugurate the road.

The Prime Minister accepted the invitation.
