HAFIZABAD - The International Day for Persons with Disabilities was observed here the other day.
In this connection, a function was organised at Special Education Centre.
On the occasion, the speakers have called on all segments of society and parents to give special attention to handicapped children to remove sense of derivation among them and make them useful citizens.
On the occasion, Acting DCO Sohail Khan emphasised on the parents, teachers and members of civil society to create awareness among the society to give love and affection to the special children so that their sense of deprivation could be eliminated and enable them participate in nation building.
He said that the government was paying special attention towards the special children and providing them better education in special education centres in the district.
He said that the government was providing them free of cost books and uniform besides pick and drop facilities.
He appealed to the parents of special children to enroll them in the centres so that they could become useful citizens.
