LAHORE - Pakistan premier batsman M Yousaf is not interested in shorter formats of the game, it has been learnt.

Yousuf who was named skipper of Lahore Lions team and skipped captaincy in favour of Pakistan Twenty20 captain M Hafeez appeared in the first match of Faysalbank Twenty20 championships and absented himself from the other two matches for reasons best known to him.Circle close to Yousaf revealed that the middle order batsmen is interested in serving Pakistan in Test cricket and not interested in One-day internationals and Twenty20. It felt that he skipped the tournament and not interested to appear in ODI and T20 series against India.

The selectors are present to monitor the performances and fitness of the players at the all three venues of country. Afridi and Younus Khan proved their credentials and gain rhythm and form while Misbah and Shoaib Malik are also playing brilliantly in the tournament. Abdul Razzaq is struggling to regain his form but due to some injury he is not playing in the Faysalbank event and taking rest to heel the injury, a source revealed on condition of anonymity.


The Pakistan Cricket Board authorities have made brilliant arrangements to hold the event in a befitting manner and they are successful so far.
