ISLAMABAD  - State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday claimed to end power loadshedding completely from the country till 2017.

Addressing Korea South Asia forum here, the state minister said that six places were selected for launching nuclear power plant projects. He said that Pakistan was facing worse energy crisis and the government was taking steps for controlling it. Abid Sher said that energy crisis damaged economy of the country due to which miseries and troubles have been increased in life of the people. He said work on short and long term power projects was underway for overcoming energy crisis in the country, adding that the government is starting new projects of special energy park and hydel. He said the government is exploring all possible avenues to resolve the energy crisis under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s leadership. Abid Sher Ali said that the government was focusing on optimum development of renewable sources of energy particularly hydel, coal, wind, solar and biomass. He said that at least 60,000 megawatts electricity could be generated from hydro power projects in the country.
