Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that the PML-N wants to escape the local government elections, and claimed that its leadership fears that the PTI will form local body governments in all districts.

Addressing a public gathering here on Wednesday, he added that the PML-N knew that it could not face PTI in local government elections and therefore they took refuge behind a number of pretexts to flee from the polls. “We have won this round. It is your triumph,” he greeted PTI workers. Citing the example of performance of PTI government in KPK, he said that the provincial government granted funds to even opposition for the development of all districts.

He claimed that the district governments in KPK were all empowered. He declared that the PTI would give powers to the local governments after winning the elections in entire country. He asked the rulers to refrain from becoming dictator and hold local government elections. He said that although he was part of the government during previous regime, the Punjab government kept the residents of his constituency deprived of development funds. “See Mr. Shahbaz Sharif! Despite this all, the people have given me vote,” he maintained.

He said that Imran Khan had raised a voice to break American arrogance and the nation should join hands with him. He lashed out at the government and said that the rulers had sold the country out to the Americans.

“Today Pakistan is in danger as it is being led by irresponsible leadership. The country badly needs responsible leadership,” he added. He said that the leadership of PML-N and PPP were exiled. “People brought them back, pulled them on their shoulders but they returned nothing to the masses. Today, the poor is getting poorer,” he lamented.

Recalling his services for his previous party, he said that Nawaz Sharif went abroad and he ran the party for seven years in Sharif’s absence. “I did not get even a single penny for running the party affairs during this period,” he claimed. He said that when Imran Khan went to Peshawar for staging a sit in against drone attacks, he joined Khan for the sake of motherland despite the fact that he was not in PTI at that time.

“The people said that I and Shah Mehmood could not stand each other but we stand united for the sake of country,” he added. He said that Nawaz Sharif asked him to abandon Multan seat and retain the one won from Rawalpindi but he refused to do so and retained Multan seat to serve homeland.

JI FLAYS DRONE ATTACKS: Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar said that at least 208 innocent Pakistani citizens were killed in 20 drone attacks during the last five months. He added that the country would become a battlefield if these unlawful attacks were not stopped.

Talking to press secretary of JI Multan Kanwar Siddiq, he added that the rulers made Pakistan into an experiment lab for the US to test their war strategies and weapons. “They have allowed the US to hold entire nation hostage for the sake of a few dollars,” he maintained. He said that the drone attacks were not committed on Taliban but peace process. He asked Taliban to understand the conspiracies of India and US and return to peace talks with Pakistan.
