Permits for tinted glasses suspended

Islamabad - The district administration Islamabad has warned against use of tinted glasses in the limits of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), as it has suspended all the permits issued in this regard in exemption of the provisions of Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1969, the sources said yesterday.
They said district magistrate Islamabad issued a notification to this effect on December 3, 2015 (Thursday). “It is hereby notified that all the permits issued for tinted glasses in exemption of provisions of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1969 are hereby suspended with immediate effect. Strict legal action shall be initiated against the violators,” reads the notification.
In compliance with the notification, the ICT police removed black papers from 200 vehicles. Following the directions from Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Islamabad administration and the local police have started campaign against the vehicles having tinted glasses. The action is being taken under motor vehicle ordinance against the vehicles making others unable to see vehicle’s occupants.
Following the notification, special teams were constituted for the purpose and all zonal DSPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and staff of Falcon, Eagles and patrolling teams are monitoring the campaign. Vehicles with blue lights are also being checked and action would also start against those selling blue lights or selling material to make glass of vehicles tinted.
Furthermore, Islamabad police have arrested 14 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered a stolen car, mobile phone and stolen property from their possession, a police spokesman said. According to details, Khanna police arrested Waqar and recovered two stolen mobile phones from him. Golra police apprehended Nadeem Khan for his alleged involvement in illegal oil selling. Secretariat police recovered a stolen car from the possession of Nadeem Ahmed. Noon police arrested Nasir for his alleged involvement in a car theft. Koral police arrested Farhan Shahzad and recovered stolen property from him.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
