LAHORE Apollo Club earned thrilling two-run win over Muslim Gymkhana to snatch quarter-final spot in Col. Fateh Sher Khan Memorial Cricket Cup 2010 at Model Town Club Ground. The highlight of the match was quick-fire 115 by losing teams Junaid Jan in 95 balls. The chief guest was former Test Umpire Mian Aslam who gave Junaid Jan of the Match Award for brilliant effort in run-chase. Sheikh Khurram Hafeez, Sohaib Dar, Nawab Mansoor Hayat were also present on this occasion. Apollo, under guidance of ICC Award recipient Malik Sarwar Mehmood. made 225 in allotted 35 overs with Imran Butt 63, Suleman Ali 64, Farhan Alam 23. Adil Sardar 3-43, Imran Liaquat 3-38, Mohsin Pervez 1-43, Waqas 1-42 were successful bowlers. In reply, Gymkhana fell two runs short of winning target and made 224-7. Junaid hit 115, supported by Imran Yousuf 31, Rizwan Ahmed 15. Naveed Ahmed took 2-63, Nadeem Boota 2-36, Waqas Ahmed 3-15. The umpires were Irfan Dilshad, Muhammad Asif while Javed Hayat was scorer.
