Walk to mark Cancer Day


LAHORE - The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Lahore in collaboration with Sanofi Avents organized a walk to create awareness on the occasion of World Cancer Day. A maximum number of doctors, nurses, medical staff and public participated in the walk which was led by Director INMOL Dr Syed Waqar Haider. Dr Muneeb Nasir, Dr Kamran Saeed, Dr Zafar Allauddin, Dr Aisha, Syed Sajid Hussain, Mumtazul Haq and Shahbaz Ahmad also took part in the walk.
The participants of the walk started it from INMOL Hospital, then they went to Punjab University New Campus and then finally gathered at Sheikh Zayed Hospital where Chairman Sheikh Zayed Hospital Dr Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry welcomed them.
Talking to the participants on the occasion, Director INMOL Dr Waqar Haider said: “The main aim of organising the walk is to create awareness about cancer among the public sector. This year the theme of World Cancer Day is to prevent people from cancer. INMOL is providing all the basic facilities of cancer medication to public sector across the Punjab. It is the dire need to literate Pakistani people about cancer.”
Dr Muneeb Nasir, consultant Oncologist INMOL said: “Blood cancer is spreading rapidly in Punjab and we are providing best possible services to people and for poor, it is almost free.”
