peshawar : Mufti Kifayatullah, ex lawmaker of Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam (Fazl), Tuesday expressed disappointment over Fazlur Rehman’s decision to stay away from the talks with the Taliban. Talking to a private TV channel, Mufti Kifayatullah, who has been chosen by the Taliban as a member of its five-member committee for peace talks with the government, said that he was fully prepared for playing his role in the proposed talks. He also claimed that his efforts were also involved in wooing the militants to come to the negotiating table.
Hailing from district Mansehra of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mufti expressed dismay over his party’s decision to stay away from the process despite being part of the government at Centre. Though he wanted to be part of the process, he said, he was bound to obey the party’s decision as his party JUI-F has decided not to be part of any committee and talks process between the government and Taliban.
