Committed and devoted workers are invaluable/valuable asset to any organization and such workers should be given due respect and honour to recognize their remarkable services for the progress and betterment of an organisation.

IUB Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the IUB Departments Heads here on Tuesday.

He reiterated that the IUB was proud of the staff who performed remarkably in their respective sections which helped the varsity improve its ranking and image.

He disclosed that a special ceremony would be held to mark contribution and services of retired faculty members and staff of the university next month. He also said that that a directory of the IUB would be compiled soon in which details and contributions/services of the distinguished staff would be highlighted to acknowledge their role for making university a well-esteem institution.

He said that faculty members who attended the national and international conferences/seminars would be fully acknowledged and given due regards.

Meanwhile, IUB VC Dr Muhammad Mukhtar gave keys of new tractors to the IUB Bahawalnagar Campus and Estate Care Section of the University to further boost the performance.

Addressing the participants, he said that the opening of marketing of the newly introduced cotton variety, IUB-222 was just the beginning as the research is being underway on many varieties and qualities of cotton, rice, wheat, fruit and flowers which would produce positive results.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Selection Board, Punjab Public Service Commission Member Masoodur Rasool, Agricultural Experts from UAF Dr Anas Sarwar Qureshi, Dr Asif Ali, Dr Ahrar Khan, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore’s Dr Hifsa Zainab, Dr Mian Abdul Sattar, Dr Muhammad Younis, Dr Javed Hanif of the Arid Agriculture University, Govt SE College Principal Dr Shafiqueur Rehman, IUB Transport Section Head Riaz Hussain Sindharr and senior faculty members of the university.
