RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) organised a group calligraphic exhibition here on Tuesday.
Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Managing Director (MD) Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh inaugurated the exhibition. On the occasion, Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed and former Resident Director Naheed Manzoor were also present. The exhibition was also attended by large number of art lovers from twin cities.
The master art pieces of Aftab Ahmed Khan, Ehali Bukhsh Matti, Muhammad Hussain, Nadeem Sheikh, Al-Firdos, Sajid Sypra, Ali Ahmed, Younis Roomi and Ziaul Qamar were put on display.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh said that calligraphy was an everlasting legacy of Islamic tradition which would be continued forever. He said that it was pleasurable that RAC was promoting the Islamic values besides cultural and literary activities. Naheed Manzoor said that the aim to organise calligraphic exhibition was to keep aware the public from Quranic teachings. RAC RD Waqar Ahmed said that it was great honour for the Council for which the work of great artists of the region have been put on display which would be open for general public till February 8, 2014.–Staff Reporter
