ISLAMABAD: Notification on reduction in power tariff by Rs 3.83 per unit has been issued by NEPRA.

According to the notification, the reduction in the power tariff has been made in accordance with the directives issued by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and the only objective behind it is, to provide relief to the masses.

The revised rates will not be applicable to the consumers of K-Electric (KE) and those consuming less than 300 units of electricity.

The tariff was revised under the head of fuel adjustment surcharge in the month of December.

Central Power Purchasing Authority (CPPA) said that power generation in Guddu and Nandipur power plants was less than expected due to which significant decrease in power costs occurred.
