Elected assemblies my political weapon: Asif

President Asif Ali Zardari has described the assemblies elected by masses vote as his political weapon which he says he will use to defeat conspiracies being hatched against him. Talking to the BBC via telephone, the President said, We are political people and well resolve issues in political manner. He said he believes in peoples power and Parliament, National Assembly and provincial assemblies are true forums of this power. I am a constitutionally elected President of these forums, and 'some quarters are trying to remove me, using unconstitutional ways, he said. However, he didnt explain what does he mean by 'some quarters. The sources close to the Presidency said that NWFP Assembly would also pass a resolution soon, expressing confidence in President Zardari. Efforts would be made to get similar resolutions passed by Punjab Assembly as well as both the Houses of the Parliament, the sources said. It is to be recalled that President Asif Zardari has already convened sessions of both the Houses separately on January 11. At least, on three occasions since last week, President Asif Zardari has clearly said that democracy was in danger.
