KARACHI - MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Monday urged the Ulema from all religious schools of thought to boycott the elements who were hatching conspiracy to disturb the ongoing atmosphere of religious harmony and provoking sectarian hatred among the masses. In his telephonic conversation with the noted religious scholars Allama Talib Jauhri, Jaffaria Alliance President Allama Abbas Kumaili and Maulana Mirza Yousuf Hussain from London, Altaf expressed his condolence on the martyrdom of mourners in the bomb blast on Ashura procession. He recalled that before the foundation of MQM, the Shia-Sunni riots were carried out through a planned conspiracy in the urban areas of Sindh. He said that MQM was successfully stopped the sectarian riots from the urban areas of Sindh by practical efforts of the party. Altaf further said that the unity and religious harmony between the Shia-Sunni people of the Sindh are the result of religious harmony in the province. He pointed out that such elements that do not like the harmony between Shia-Sunni community are again trying to trigger sectarian riots in the province for their vested interests. He said that those elements who believed in sectarian hatred were neither the friend nor the well-wisher of any sect saying that these elements are the enemies of all people. Altaf stressed that Shia-Sunni Ulema and organisations should set aside their differences and point out such elements in their ranks and boycott these elements that are involved in provoking sectarian hatred in the metropolis. Shia Ulema appreciated the MQM chief Altaf Hussains role for promoting the religious harmony and unity among all schools of thought and assured their full support to MQM.
