LAHORE Plains of the country including the City remained in the grip of severe cold and foggy weather on the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday with experts predicting the same conditions to persist during the next couple of days. Besides hampering vehicular movement on intercity and intracity roads, lesser visibility caused delay in the arrival and departure of international and domestic flights besides disturbing schedule of trains. The fog started falling in the evening on Tuesday before lifting of the existing mass. The incessant fog drastically reduced visibility, adding to the woes of motorists traveling on Motorway and National Highway. Dense fog again caused closure of Motorway from Pindi Bhattian to Lahore and from Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad at around midnight. Local meteorological department has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for most parts of the country during the next couple of days. However, dense fog is likely to continue over the plain areas of central and lower Khyber PK, upper Sindh and Punjab including the City from midnight to 12 in the morning.
