ISLAMABAD - The proceedings of the National Assembly on Tuesday were adjourned till today (Wednesday) evening due to the killing of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer in the Federal Capital. Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza was chairing the proceedings when Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan urged her to adjourn the session in the pretext of the killing of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer in a market of Islamabad. Meanwhile former Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi offered fateha for the departed soul of Salman Taseer. Later, the Speaker National Assembly termed the assassination of Governor Punjab a tragic incident and adjourned the proceedings till Wednesday (today).
