Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani has not lived up to the expectations of people as a pinnacle of honesty and integrity in the shadows of his pious roots. Despite his innocent looks, his reputation is riddled with massive corruption especially with respect to corrupt individuals who were appointed as heads of various government organization. Condoning corruption is after all a criminal act in itself. Besides, his large houses in DHA Lahore are thought to be gifted by a rich person. The unworthy appointments of corrupt persons made by him at high government posts by his personal orders to establishment secretary coupled with historic rise in petrol prices have all added up to ruin his reputation as an honest ruler who looks only after his own and partys interests. The best thing for him was to quit gracefully as advised by his mentor, Pir Sahib of Pagara of Sindh instead of being removed by force. He ought to coolly consider his options in the glorious traditions of his forefathers so that his followers may not lose confidence in him. DR. MUHAMMAD YAQOOB BHATTI
