LAHORE - A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday, securing the recovery of two children and registration of a case against almost all the family members of PML-Q leader Ahad Malik for helping the kids’ mother in “abduction”. Petitioner Irfan Mehmood stated that he, in 1997, contracted marriage with Ms Ambreen, daughter of Malik Muhammad Hayat, and two children Laraib Irfan & Abdul Saboor Irfan took birth.

Meanwhile, he divorced Ms Ambreen. In 2007, petitioner sent his both sons at the residence of Ahad Malik 55-G Gulberg III in order to arrange meeting on the directions of Guardian Court with their mother Ambreen. He alleged, however, his former wife Ambreen abducted his sons and fled from the said house. The Guardian Court had issued at least 8 notices to Ambreen as well as Ahad Malik’s family members including Aysha Ahad Malik but they did not produce both the children before the court. In the meantime, Aysha’s brother Yousaf Ahad  termed the petition as unfair tactic by the PML-N to pressurise them as they were pursuing a case against police.
