SIALKOT - Following the growing number of citizens’ and local political figures’ joining in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the PML-N has changed its policy in the district making the party stronger by launching a mass-contact campaign, as the local party leaders are going door-to-door to solve the people’s problems.

The PML-N bigwigs including Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Special Assistant to Punjab CM Mansha Ullah Butt, MPA Ch Ikhlaq Ahmed and PML-N district President Idrees Ahmed Bajwa are holding the corner meetings and going door-to-door for patching up with the annoyed party leaders and workers. They are also knocking every door in Sialkot and asking the citizens about their problems.

The locals are enjoying this situation, terming it a pleasant change in the alleged rude political attitude of the local PML-N leaders. The party leaders are making apologies to the citizens on their past mistakes and trying to prove themselves as true political servants.

Earlier, PML-N workers were accusing Kh Asif of dividing the party in several groups in the district. But now, all the divided party groups are claiming to be united after the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s interference. The party leaders and workers have already showed their political unity at Gujranwala public gathering on Dec 31.

Meanwhile, the local PML-N MPA, Engineer Imran Ashraf from PP 123, still annoyed with the party and has already announced to join PTI while talking to the media. He said he would formally join PTI during Imran Khan’s visit to Sialkot. The reason behind Imran Ashraf’s annoyance was stated to be the alleged sluggish political attitude of Kh Asif.

In Pasrur, local PML-N leader Amjad Ali Bajwa Advocate has also resigned from PML-N due to alleged Kh Asif’s attitude.

In Sialkot, the PML-N annoyed MPA, Rana Shamim Ahmed along with his son MNA Rana Abdul Sattar, have said that they have not done any patch with the PML-N’s central leader Asif. Talking to the newsmen at Uggoki, Rana Shamim and Abdul Sattar said that though they were still annoyed with PML-N district leadership, but they would never leave the party.

According to the pundits, the political role of PML-Q has almost ended in Sialkot after the joining of PML-Q backed former provincial minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema, former district nazim Muhammad Ajmal Cheema and former tehsil nazim Imtiazud Din Dar in PTI.

In Daska, the PML-N-backed former tehsil nazim, Haji Nasir Mehmood Cheema, has already joined the PTI for his political survival.

Sialkot-based former PML-Q Women Wing Punjab president Dr Naseem Shakeel has also got a top slot of PTI Women Wing Human Rights. Former national assembly speaker Chaudhry Ameer Hussain is also likely to join PTI.
