Int’l moot on Urdu in March

BAHAWALPUR
An international conference on ‘Urdu Language and 21st Century’ will be held at Islamia University of Bahawalpur during March in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission and Wasaib organisation.
Renowned literary figures from all over the world including Uzbekistan, Russia, Japan, China, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Egypt, UK, Germany, Canada, America and Pakistan would attend the moot, said IUB Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar during an introductory meeting of the conference.
He disclosed that President Mamnoon Hussain, Punjab Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other dignitaries of the country would be invited to grace the occasion. MPA Fouzia Ayub Quraishi, former MPA Syed Tabish Alveri, Mukhtar Ahmed Farani Advocate, Ali Moeen Bullay, Masood Sabir, literary figures of the city and faculty members attended the video conference.
Dr Najeeb Jamal highlighted the salient features and objectives of the international conference. A Mehfil-e-Mushaira, Mehfil-e-Ghazal and a stage play, “Taaous-e-Chaman ki Maena” by the IUB Dramatic Club will also be held during the three-day event. Broadcaster Raza Ali Abidi pledged to make the conference a real success.
