TOBA TEK SINGH - Scores of brick-kiln workers staged a protest demonstration and a sit-in for more than four hours outside District Labour Office to press their demands here on Saturday. As per details, the protesting brick-kiln workers flayed the government apathy.

They demanded that payment of government’s fixed wages of Rs740 per 1000 bricks and issuance of social security cards should be ensured to the workers which had been pending since long.

Labour leaders Farzana Bari, Shabbir Ahmad, Latif Insari and Asghar Ali addressed the gathering. Later District Labour Officer Muhammad Saeed met the protesters and assured them to meet their demands. Following the assurance the workers end their sit-in.
