KASUR - A person Saturday threw acid on his two stepdaughters over a domestic dispute, leaving them critically injured.

Police said that Muhammad Aslam hailing from Ali Town on Pattoki Road in Kasur, was in differences with his second wife. Aslam after exchange of hot words threw acid on his 14-year-old and 10-year-old stepdaughters.

According to Online, Qari Aslam wanted his son (from the first wife) to marry one of his stepdaughters. The victims’ mother alleged that the man threw acid on the daughters after refusal, the agency reported. The injured girls were shifted to hospital from where they were referred to General Hospital in Lahore.

Hospital sources said that bodies of both girls were badly scorched and were in serious conditions.

The non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working for children rights have strongly condemned the brutal incident and demanded authorities for exemplary punishment to the culprit. The police have registered a case while raids are being conducted for the arrest.
