PESHAWAR - Demanding the government to announce a proper service structure for Nadra employees, scores of contractual employees staged a protest demonstration here outside press club on Saturday.

 The protestors led by Nadra Employees Union (NEU) Provincial President Azmat Qazafi, General Secretary Gohar Ayub and dozens of employees hailing from D.I. Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Peshawar and other districts of the province gathered outside press club. They were holding placards and banner inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands and against the corrupt officials in the department. Talking to reporters on the occasion, NEU Provincial President Azmat alleged that Chairman Nadra Tariq Malik was a corrupt person and is incompetent to run the affairs of the department in a befitting manner. He demanded the government to announce a proper service structure for the employees of Nadra and remove corrupt officials from the department.

He said that the government should be mindful about the issues being faced by the employees of Nadra and take stern legal action against those involved in corruption.

He also demanded the government to set up a promotion board and issue employees' seniority list along with approving medical facility to the employees concerned. Azmat maintained that they were planning to hold a protest demo at Nadra headquarters in Islamabad.

The NEC protesting employees' leaders asked for the removal of over 8,000 employees allegedly inducted in Nadra on political basis and those involved in corruption.
