Sindh CM takes notice of missing gutter caps after criticism

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of disappearing gutter caps in the city and directed Administrator Karachi, to fix the issue within two days.

The chief minister telephoned the city administrator and expressed his displeasure over lack of solution to civic problems. According to reports, he furiously asked the administrator, “Will the chief minister now fix the gutter caps.”

He directed the administrator to identify spots where gutter caps were missing and cover them. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central joint secretary Alamgir Khan has recently kicked off a campaign ‘Sleeping Beauty’ to highlight misgovernance in Karachi.

Under the campaign, the team spray painted face of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah near potholes and missing gutter caps with a message “Sleeping Beauty… fix it.”

The campaign has drawn attention of public towards Karachi civic issues, through the social media. This also led to criticism on the PPP-led provincial government of Sindh for neglecting problems of Karachi.
