Bahawalpur - A meeting chaired by Secretary Local Government Altaf Baloch took important decisions regarding use of new annual development funds here on Tuesday.
The meeting also considered the construction of Local Government Complex under which important buildings of South Punjab Secretariat will be constructed in the complex.
The meeting chalked out a comprehensive plan for Annual Development Programme 22-2023 in the light of the guidelines issued by the Planning and Development.
Additional secretary admin, additional secretary local government, deputy secretaries, section officers were also present. Executive engineers of South Punjab attended the meeting through video link.
Secretary Local Government South Punjab Muhammad Altaf Baloch directed that the Annual Development Programme 22-23 should be prepared as soon as possible and the ongoing development schemes under the Annual Development Programme 22-2021 should be completed within the stipulated time. He said that all executive engineers should go to the field and inspect the development projects themselves. He said that he would also personally visit the development schemes for inspection.
DPO holds open-katchehri
District Police Officer, Bahawalpur, Muhammad Faisal Kamran held an open Katchehry at his office where he listened to people about their cases related to police department.
According to a spokesman for Bahawalpur police, the DPO listened over 36 visitors who visited open katchehri and told him about delay in process on their applications lodged with police stations concerned.
The DPO also made phone calls to police officials and got details about the cases about them he received applications and complaints at the open katchehri. He directed the officials to ensure provision of justice to people. The Open-Katchehris are being held on the directives of IGP Punjab office.
Rain forecast for city
The local Met Office has forecast a partly cloudy to cloudy weather with chances of rain for the city for next 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature 21 centigrade and the lowest minimum 12 centigrade were recorded during last 24 hours. The partly cloudy to cloudy weather with chances of rain has also been forecast for rest of the region.
