KARACHI - Five people on Sunday drowned into sea while having picnic at Sandspit Beach in the remits of Docks police station, while a minor girl was drowned at Mominabad in the remits of Pirabad police station on Sunday. According to police, three people were yet to be recovered who were identified as Bilal, 15, Faizan, 16, residents of Golimar, and Shamsher, 18, was the resident of Khadda Market. Rescue workers managed to safely recover Umair, resident of Khadda Market and an unknown 17-year-old whose identity was yet to be ascertained. After the efforts of 12 hours, the rescue workers recovered the body of Danish, 20, who was drowned at Hawksbay beach on Saturday. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi and after legal formalities handed over to the heirs. Separately, a five-year-old girl was drowned at Mominabad located in Qasba area in the remits of Pirabad police station. According to police, the deceased Sana, 5, daughter of Gul Khan, was the resident of Mominabad. She drowned into the water tank of an under construction house in her neighbourhood. The body was recovered after one day. The deceaseds father is a bus driver. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and later handed over to her family. Man commits suicide A wine shop owner on Sunday committed suicide by shooting himself in his flat at Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the limits of Sharah-e-Faisal police station. DSP Al-Falah Shafi Rind said that the victim Mukaish, son of Norumal, was the resident of Hunair City apartment Block-17 Gulistan-e-Jauhar. He shot himself in his flat and died at the spot in the wee hours of Sunday. He was associated with the business of alcohol and used to run a wine shop in the same area, Rind added. The body was taken to JPMC where the doctor pronounced his death and later his family took his body from the hospital without any legal formality. Separately, police have recovered a body of a man from the Nadi under the Jam Sadiq Bridge in Korangi Industrial Area police precincts. The body was shifted to mortuary for DNA and chemical examination.
