LAHORE - A 30-year-old poverty-stricken labourer, father of three daughters, committed suicide after he failed to meet the necessities of life in Kot Lakhpat police limits in the wee hours on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Naeem, a painter by profession and resident of Ghulam Bhatti Colony near Chandar Roy Road. Police investigators said the deceased was disappointed as he was unable to make both ends meet. He spoke with her spouse in quite dejected manner here on Saturday night saying he was unable to meet the needs. The woman, however, encouraged him to remain patient as Allah will help them but to no avail, a police investigator said. According to him, the deceased hanged himself with a ceiling fan by using a rope of a cot. The family member also endorsed that the deceased has committed suicide due to prolonged hunger. Police, later, handed over the body to his heirs after completing necessary medico-legal formalities.
