LAHORE Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) in its meeting with Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday presented a 23-point charter of demands to the CM, the most important one being removal of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah from the cabinet. A representative delegation of SIC called on Punjab CM Sunday night and presented him a 23-point charter of demands to curb sectarian militancy. It asked the government to stop banned religious outfits from operating under new names besides banning sectarian literature spreading hatred among different sects. The SIC demanded that elements within the government structure including the law minister providing protection to the banned organisations should be removed from their offices. The SIC ulema further asked the government to keep a vigil on those Jihadi elements who got training during Afghan Jihad to restrict their activities. The representative delegation of SIC requested the Punjab CM to ensure foolproof security at the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri and inflict exemplary punishment on those who provided logistic support to the terrorists involved in suicide bombings.
