LAHORE - A strong windstorm lashed the city on Sunday afternoon following an extremely hot and dry weather. As a result of storm which also carried clouds, the temperature dropped to the extent of 6 degree as compared to Saturdays that was 41. The mild westerly although did not cause any rain in central Punjab but heavy rain in Muzaffarabad, Saidu Sharif, Balakot, Muree and even in Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Zafarwal, Marala, Ganda Singh Wala etc. Met office has predicted more rain/thunderstorm at isolated places in Punjab, Khyber Pk, Kashmir, southeast Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. A low pressure area lies over Madhya Pradesh (India) as there is no fresh incursion of monsoon but the low pressure may cause rain in the areas and even in eastern parts of Pakistan. However, a fresh westerly wave is moving across northeast Afghanistan and adjoining Pakistan, which may cause heavy rain in parts of Pakistan.
