KARACHI - JS Blue defeated JS Green by 10 runs to win the final of inaugural JS Bank Wwomen's T20 Cricket Tournament here on Sunday night at Moin Khan Cricket Academy ground. Khursheed Jabeen was named the player of the final. She scored 24 runs and took two wickets. Aiman Anwar contributed 29 runs. The closing ceremony of the tense contest was held at the stroke of the midnight. The winning team received Rs. 50,000 while the losing finalists got Rs. 25,000. Kalim Ur Rahman, President/ CEO JS Bank and Munawar Alam Siddiqui, Chairman JS Investments distributed the prizes. All participating teams were awarded medals. Chief Guest for the event was Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Advisor to PM for Textile. JS Bank also recognised female sporting stars from different sports and awarded Certificates / cash prizes of Rs 5000 each to Sara Ahmed for Tennis, Sara Khan for Badminton, Almas Ibrahim for Athletics, Qurat-ul-Ain Zaidi for Table Tennis and Rida Mitha for Swimming. JS Bank is the pioneer and hosted the first ever day/night Women T-20 tournament in Pakistan. The tournament was sponsored by JS Bank to promote women's cricket and to pave way for talent hunt of new emerging players.
