OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A teenage girl committed suicide by consuming acid here in Muslim Town area on Monday, police sources said. Naureen Bibi was rushed to the Sheikh Zayed Hospital shortly after she consumed acid at her residence, sources said, adding, the girl died at the intensive care unit on early Monday. Ghulam Fatima, mother of the deceased, told the police that Naureen confined herself in the room and drank acid after being admonished by her father over some domestic issue. The police handed over the body to the family without autopsy. In another incident, a 22-year-old youth was killed when his motorcycle rammed into a footpath in Shahdara area on Monday. Resident of Ali Park, Mohammad Sohail, was on his way home when he lost the control and his two-wheeler rammed into the footpath. He sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital but died in the way. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old bodyguard was killed and his master and another guard sustained multiple bullets as four motorcyclists ambushed their vehicle here in Gujjarpura area, police said on Monday. The police investigators said that both the killers and the victims had old enmity as they got registered several criminal cases including of murder against each other during the last couple of years. Ali Imran alias Bahadara along with his two gunmen was on his way home when four gunmen riding on two motorcycles intercepted their vehicle near Sukhi Tali, the vicinity of Gujjarpura police. The motorcyclists sprayed their vehicle with bullets and fled away from the crime scene. As a result, Ali Imran, his guards Waqas and Ziafat, sustained multiple bullet wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Waqas succumbed to wounds. The condition of the injured was reported to be critical till filing of this report. The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far.
