ISLAMABAD- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has questioned how the government through its ECC decided to lift a ban on the import of CNG kits at a time when massive gas shortages are confronting the country.

Central Information Secretary PTI, Shireen Mazari argued that CNG use should be discouraged, not augmented. She stated that under foreign pressure, the government had taken an irrational decision which was clearly harmful for the country and its fast-depleting natural resource.

Mazari also questioned the lifting of the ban on the import of live animals, again at the behest of foreign powers. According to her, Pakistan had already suffered when sick sheep were allowed into the country from Australia some years prior, after the same consignment had been rejected by a Gulf state.

PTI Secretary Information asserted that such harmful decisions made under pressure from external powers revealed the complete lack of concern on the part of PML-N, for the well-being of the citizens of Pakistan as well as for the preservation of its natural resources.
