LAHORE - Former Law Minister Rana Sanaullah will be inducted into the Punjab Cabinet after he gets a clean chit from Judicial Commission probing the Model Town incident.
Sources in the PML-N confided that the absence of Rana Sana is being strongly felt in the cabinet and his return to the ministerial post has been conditioned with the judicial commission report findings. Sources say if the judicial commission exonerated Rana of the allegations levelled against him by the Minhaj authorities about the incident, he would be put back into the ministerial post; otherwise he would be dealt with according to the law. The sources further said at present expansion of the provincial cabinet is under consideration at the top level and if the commission report saw the sun within a week or so, the decision of Rana’s reinstatement will be taken along with the upcoming lot of ministers in the cabinet. At present, provincial cabinet has 19 ministers and at least another five are being inducted therein.
It may be mentioned that Rana Sanaullah, being asked by the Punjab CM, had stepped down, so that the judicial inquiry into Model Town incident could be carried out in a fair and transparent manner.
