FAISALABAD: A judicial magistrate on Saturday extended for three days the physical remand of SHO Faraz Cheema in the murder case of Farhan, a 9th class student. The accused will again be produced in the court on July 6. The police have, however, failed to arrest the other three police personnel, who were also allegedly involved in the fake police shootout.

Meanwhile, a four-member committee had constituted under the Faisalabad commissioner to probe the case and committee members have so far recorded statements of doctors and staff of the hospital on the issue of non-provision of proper treatment to Farhan and his injured friend after they were rushed to the hospital.–The nation Monitoring

The committee will present the inquiry report to the Punjab chief minister within a few days. The source said that the police and the PML-N local leadership was pressuring parents of the deceased to withdraw the case.
