TURBAT - Five terrorists, including two key commanders of the banned BLF, were killed while five others injured in a joint operation by Frontier Corps and secret agencies in Kaich Shadi Kore area of Turbat on Saturday.

On a tip-off, the security personnel cordoned off the area and had an exchange of fire with the terrorists.

The militants who were holed up in a house opened fire at LEAs officials upon seeing them. Five militants were killed and six arrested as LEAs officials retaliated.

Arms and ammunition has been recovered from the terrorists. In another incident, a key commander of the banned outfit was killed in an operation of the FC in Balochistan’s Barkhan area.


Frontier Corps Balochistan on Saturday apprehended at least 11 suspected terrorists during search operations in different areas of Turbat and Gwadar.

An FC spokesman said as many as nine terrorists were arrested from Tump area of Turbat while two from Gwadar.

“The arrested terrorists belong to two different banned organizations,” he said.

“They planned to sabotage peace in the region to make the area volatile and thus sabotage the prospects of the CPEC.”

Meanwhile, Frontier Corps vehicles managed to escape a bomb attack near Gogdan area of Turbat on Saturday.

According to FC sources, two vehicles of the force were en-route to Meerani Dam when unidentified men exploded a remote-controlled bomb planted on a roadside as soon as the cars reached near Gogdan.

However, the vehicles pulled out safely from the scene with no life and financial loss. Police reached the spot after the blast and gathered evidence. A case was registered against unknown miscreants.
