LODHRAN-Despite the efforts of the administration and removal of various doctors including the medical superintendent, the problems faced by the District Headquarters Hospital Lodhran and the patients are still unresolved.
During his visit to Nankana Sahab, the Punjab chief minister had suspended DCO, EDO Health and MS of that hospital over poor management and faulty arrangements.
In the tenure of former MS Zahid Akhtar, five air-conditioners were vanished and forged bills for the repair of air-conditioners were recovered. On the issue, communication between DCO Office and EDO Health office continues.
According to a source, the district administration wants to take action against former MS Zahid Akhtar, EDO Health and former clerk Jaffar thus they are worried about the future. Last Wednesday, Director Health Multan along with other officers visited the Hospital and during their visit they checked Dialysis Centre and Operation Theatre, and directed to make them completely operational, and resolve the complaints about the provision of medicines in hospital.
After the three-hour visit, the director health prepared a report and sent to Punjab chief minister.
Health Department and administration officials have concerns that the CM might visit Lodhran Hospital. In 2013, cases of corruption and favouritism had surfaced and the CM took action by sending 6 doctors including the MS to jail along with 14 officials of Building. Even then, the district hospital has failed to provide health facility for the patients.
30 LODHRAN COPS TO FACE REVERSION: On the order of Supreme Court, police have started reverting the officials, who were promoted out of turn, to their original positions in Lodhran like other districts. On directions of IG Punjab and RPO Multan, Lodhran DPO Asad Sarfraz Khan have prepared the lists of such officials. According to Police source, 1 Inspector, 6 sub inspector, 3 Assistant Sub inspectors and 20 head constables were promoted out of turn and are deployed in different Police Stations throughout the Lodhran district. They will be demoted to their original positions according to the new policy in District Lodhran only one officer of inspector level is included in the list and that inspector is observing duties currently in a police station as SHO.
According to source, these lists have been dispatched to IG Punjab on which implementation will be done soon after Eid. It should remain clear that according to court orders, these orders would have been implemented in March 2016 but most of the officers who were promoted out of turn have filed petitions with different courts against the decision but they could not succeed and now these orders are being implemented.
