Former Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani has alarmed that delaying of general elections for getting favourable results will be tantamount to dark clouds for federation.
As per media reports, Raza Rabbani said on Thursday that National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has informed federal government regarding the threats for the candidates and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also issued almost the same warning .
He further said that the attacks on the offices and processions of electoral candidates are preface of a major incident and the interim government has failed to take stern action practically regarding this matter.
According to law, It is the responsibility of interim government to help ECP to hold fair and transparent elections, he observed.
Former Chairman added that ECP had not made it clear before that under what conditions army will be called to maintain peace on polling stations.
All the political parties expressed their reservations over violent incidents and demanded ECP and care taker government should take strict measures to rein in miscreants, he asserted.
Moreover, he said there is consensus on point that violent politics should be discouraged at all levels.

PTI leadership has taught its political workers to consider political opponent as an enemy, he alleged .
On the other hand, PTI leader Fawad Chauhdary has made it clear that former PLM-N government has introduced wrong policy for Sindh and Punjab and as a result the ire of people of both the provinces is coming to fore.
But we do not believe in the politics of violence, Fawad added.
He further said that incidents of violence against PLM-N and PPP should be avoided and they should be defeated through votes in general elections 2018
