2 minors among 3 killed

Our Staff reporter SHEIKHUPURA - A labourer Sohbat Khan and two minor children were killed while eight others including two passers-by sustained critical injuries when the roofs of two factories and three adjoining houses caved in after a blast here the other day. As per detail, dozens of labourers were working in a chemical factory, located in Wandyala Dyal Shah locality, adjacent to GT Road, in the limit of Ferozewala Police. All of a sudden chemical-laden drums, lying in the factorys compound started bursting one after another. As a result, the roofs of two factories and adjacent three houses collapsed with a huge blast, killing Sohabt Khan on the spot while two minor children - two-year-old Shamash and four-year-old Sharish, residing in the adjacent house, lost their lives due to the debris of the roof of his house. Similarly, six other labourers and passers-by women also sustained injuries. DCO Ibrar Mirza and other high ups rushed to the scene and supervised the rescue operation. The incident created panic in the locality and people rushed to the spot and started rescue efforts prior to the arrival of rescue team. The residents have demanded the the district administration to look into the matter and take a stern action against the people responsible for the mishap.
