JI demands appointment of surgeon at Lakki hospital

LAKKI MARWAT Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) district chapter has demanded of the provincial government to appoint a surgeon in the city hospital and fill the vacant posts of doctors in the rural health centres of the district. In a meeting held here on Saturday, the JI leaders said that since the appointment of Dr Falak Naz, a surgical specialist at city hospital, as Executive District Officer, health department, the post of surgeon had been lying vacant. JI District Ameer Maulana Malik Meer Shah presided over the meeting, which was attended among others of secretary general Sabz Ali Khan Naveed and information secretary Muhammad Jibran Sanan. Due to the lack of a surgical specialist, the residents of the urban locality and adjacent villages are faced with problems to avail healthcare facilities, they maintained. They said that minor injured of the road accidents were referred to Bannu and other big cities as the hospital lacked a surgeon to handle such cases.
