President, PM urged to dismiss PCB Chief

OUR STAFF REPORTER PESHAWAR - Afridi Students Union (ASU) has demanded of the President and Prime Minister of the country to dismiss Ijaz Butt as Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and take inquiry against national cricket team coach Waqar Younis for akkeged violation of rules and regulation and review over Shahid Afridi resign. Speaking at a news conference here at press club on Saturday, Dil Nawaz Afridi, a central chairman ASU said that Shahid Afridi had not presented resignation on his personal well but was compelled to do so which was condemnable. Flanked by Jameel Afridi central president of ASU and Ahmad Noor Afridi said that former captain was loyal to his country and always played for the honor of Pakistan but he had been given punishment for his best performance and patriotism. Shahid Afirdi was a good all-rounder and there was no allegation on him about spot or matching fixing, he added. He said that due to good captaincy of former captain national team reached to semi-final of World Cup 2011 and created unity among the players. Afridi, he said also struggled to make Pakistan team in high position. They, therefore, demanded of the federal sports minister Engineer Shaukat Ullah to perform his role in this regard and they threatened if Afridi were not convinced till 14th June, ASU would stage a protest set-in in front of Governor House KP on June 16 and after it Afridi save movement would be launched and in this connection protest would be observed in front of President House Islamabad.
