LAHORE Chairman of Private Pensioners Association Khalil-ur-Rehamn has demanded of the govt to increase the pension of private sector retired employees under the Old Age Benefit. In a statement on Saturday, he said that the inflation has equally affected both the govt and private sector employees but unfortunately, the government has only announced raise in the pension of govt sector employees while no word has been given by the Federal Finance Minister for the well being of the private sector retired employees. He said that the presently the private sector retired employees are getting only Rs3,000 per month pension which is such a small amount that no family can even have food for ten days and how they would fulfill their other necessities. He said that if a raise in announced in the old age benefit of the former private sector employees, millions of people would get benefit out of it and image of government will also get boost. Khalil-ur-Rehman appealed the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani to announce a raise of Rs2000 in the pension of former private sector employees.
