Our Staff reporter MIRPUR (AJK) - The compensatory amount of over Rs50 billion out of over Rs54 billion has so far been distributed among the affectees of the just-completed Mangla dam raising project against their properties to be affected due to the gigantic project, official sources said. And at the same time, construction work in new Mirpur garden city and four new towns, exclusively meant for the fresh Mangla dam affectees, carved at different locations on the periphery of Mangla lake in the district has been accelerated, the sources told The Nations AJK staffer AH Rao here on Saturday. The affected families were relieved with the financial compensation according to the market rates, the sources said. The sources said that the process of payment of financial compensation to the Mangla dam affectees was underway according to the rules and regulations. They said that the process of payment of compensatory amount has been made much easier. The sources pointed out that the payment of the compensatory amount was made to the concerned in the light of the record of the Revenue Department and all the stages are required to be completed for the payment to the affectees. The sources said that every Mangla dam affectee was compensated with due financial relief in minimum possible time and the grievances of every affectee, if any, are being redressed immediately.
