Motorcycle-borne muggers robbed the sister of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) DG Maj Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa here the other night.As per details, Mrs Umar Farooq Bajwa was returning home after shopping from Sadiq Bazaar in a car with her driver at around 7:30pm. On the way three muggers, riding two motorcycles, started chasing her car. When the car entered a street in Basti Ammanat Ali near her home, one of the muggers on a 125 motorcycle intercepted the car and asked the driver to stop the car. When driver Abdul Hameed stopped the car two of the accused snatched 10 gold bangles with two rings worth Rs800,000 and Rs 25,000, a precious cellphone and a receipt of passport.Meanwhile some neighbours attempted to intervene but the muggers threatened them away with their weapons. Meanwhile, the accused injured Mrs Umar by hitting a pistol on her ear. When contacted DPO Sohail Habib Tajik said that the police were making hectic efforts to trace and arrest the criminals. It is to be noted that some dacoits looted a house behind the home of Umar Farooq Bajwa and took away 240 gms gold worth Rs2 million on Sunday night.50pc Judicial Complex left incomplete: Though the stipulated period for construction of the Judicial Complex in tehsil Sadiqabad has completed, about 50 percent work is yet to complete, it is learnt. Set to be completed in June this year, the project’s foundation stone was laid last year. The construction work started with Rs66.5 million. The government of Punjab allocated a piece of land from the Irrigation Department’s Rest House area and the Lahore High Court released the funds for this project. In this project, courtrooms, building of bar room and residences of judges are to be built. The construction work of this project was suspended due to unknown reasons some months back. Sadiqabad Bar Association President Abdul Khaliq Vallana said that the project will be completed during the current year. He said that in the new judicial complex, 10 courtrooms, 10 residences of judges, bar rooms, lock-up, mosque and waiting places for the visitors are being constructed. He added that the district and sessions judge was supervising the project and the quality of construction material was being monitored.
