LOS ANGELES: Soul group Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings postponed the release of its forthcoming album and tour after Jones was diagnosed with early-stage bile duct cancer. The singer, 57, is to undergo surgery, and is expected to make a full recovery but will require a “lengthy” rehabilitation period. “Over the last few weeks I haven’t felt good and I didn’t know what was going on,” Jones said in a statement. “We just found out that I have a stage-one tumour on my bile duct. Luckily we caught it really early and fast and the doctors say it’s operable and curable!”–Reuters
