ISLAMABAD- The visiting UK head of visas and immigration for Pakistan, Gulf and Iran, Mandy Ivemy, on Tuesday said that visa applications are rejected mostly of those applicants who provide false information.
Addressing a press conference at the British High Commission, she said that UK welcomes brilliant and bright students for studies and work provided they fill in their visa applications carefully and submit them well in advance so that they could join respective British educational institutions well in time.
"Students seeking British visas should start preparations including submissions of their applications well in advance so that they could secure their visas on time", she added.
About family settlement visas, Mandy Ivemy urged such people to strictly follow the rules particularly pertaining to their income. She noted that accordingly to the existing rules British immigration authorities would refuse them visas if they do not have annual income up to 18600 UK sterling pounds.
Asked what was the rate of visas refusal to Pakistanis under these two categories as compared to other countries, she said that it was not Pakistan-specific but one of the common global problems.
