The Uch Sharif Police have arrested 11 drug dealers including their woman leader and recovered one kg of heroin and 1,362 litres of liquor during an operation.Uch Sharif Police SHO Ganzanfar Ali said that drug dealers’ leader Manzooran Mai, travelled from Rahim Yar Khan to Uch Sharif, carrying one kg of heroin, adding that she was arrested at Uch Sharif Bus Stand by Sub-Inspector Abdul Majeed on a tip-off. He informed that she was the main drug dealer in the area and police were after her for a long time.However, Manzooran Mai told the media that she was not involved in any drug business and the real drug dealer was Bakhto Mai with whom she was travelling in the bus. She said its was Bakhto who was carrying two kg of heroin and police arrested both of them but released Bakhto with one kg of heroin bag after taking heavy bribe.While the SHO asserted that the police arrested only Manzooran. He said that police also recovered 1,362 litres of liquor from different dealers and lodged FIR against the ten vintners.short course concludes: The second photography short course jointly arranged by the Punjab Skill Development Fund and the UK Aid Programme was concluded here at the College of Art and Design, Islamia University, Bahawalpur (IUB), the other day.IUB/GSCWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar and DCO Imran Sikander distributed certificates to 26 successful students on completion of the course.Speaking on the occasion, the VC remarked that the IUB had been playing active role for the promotion of education and development of socioeconomic conditions in the area.He said a number of projects had been completed in collaboration with local, national and international organisations to improve the academic, social, cultural and economic conditions of the people of the area.Speaking on the occasion, DCO Imran Sikander said that the educational institutes could play an active role in bring back the traditional system on the right track to ensure peace in the society.He appreciated the project of short courses, adding that photography short course had not only given successful training to the participants but in fact had brighten the future their families.
